My creative concept is to integrate Chinese ethnic cultures with contemporary art. I used tinfoil for the headpieces, sketched out the pattern with the clay tool, and used drips and lines as the background, inspired by Pat Steir's "Rainbow in Rome." The tinfoil mountains were relevant to the headdress. This headdress comes from Miao which is one of the ethnic groups in China. The reason why I am choosing this, because it represents the blessings given by the family when the Miao girl gets married. The more and heavier silver on the headdress, there’s more blessings.
