I grew up poor and relied on scrappy meals and free school lunches. Fast food was always a rare treat, and the visual identities of those brands were created to entice people, especially children with limited options. As someone pursuing a career in advertising, an industry emblematic of the systemic issues that followed me through my life, the irony isn’t lost on me. How could I make a small, but personal commentary on that? My project uses fast food conventions for my own brand, On the House, to tell my story of the food that got me through childhood
