I am an interdisciplinary artist primarily interested in sculpture, performance, and how these mediums can be approached through improvisation. Drawing inspiration from the visceral potency of the body and the materiality of the Earth, I seek to create work that embodies the interconnectedness of these elements. Unbecoming is a durational (2-hour-long) performance where I traverse through different states of material existence, from a stubborn pursuit of wholeness and legibility to the myriad states of decay, erosion, and disintegration. As an improvised performance, it speaks to the spontaneous nature and varying scales of time within which these transitions occur.
