My ceramics practice was born from an obsession with the physicality of the medium. Each time I'm at the wheel I have an opportunity to explore new forms, surfaces, and eventually, glazes. This exploration brings out my curiosity and love for play. Ceramic slip is especially fun to play with and has been the focus of my practice for many months now. Slip is a somewhat fluid form of clay that's spreadable like yogurt. These physical qualities allow me to create textured surfaces which catch glazes in fascinating ways. Discovering these reactions is a joy I will continue to pursue.
