Marin Neuhard

BFA, Art

The physicality and presence required of handcraft provide me space to respond and ruminate on the uncomfortable. As a woman, the assumed dirty and abject seem painfully familiar to me. My work fantasizes about what happens when a filthy home is left to fester, allowing discomfort to rot into opulence. Removing bodily threat, the seductive quality of the grotesque emanates strange beauty.
