I use art as a way of exploring many different aspects of myself; with past work I have delved into trauma, suppressed feelings, relationships with others and myself, and gender. “Fixations” is about the joy I have experienced in reclaiming the parts of myself that I feel have sat on the backburner for long enough. The whimsical, sometimes overwhelming, somewhat organized, and masculine parts of myself that I feel I have kept hidden for years; it’s time they have the spotlight, too.
