Sunburst is an exploration of how we can introduce natural light into our built environment to improve workplace ambience. I used biophilic design as a means of connecting humans with nature and exposing the benefits of indirect nature. The core of Sunburst is the lighting effect. The same way raw sunlight piercing through a window relaxes us, this project aims to relax our minds during the work day. Sunburst is an organic form, 3D printed with PLA bioderived from corn starch and recycled fruit packaging. It can be printed without the need for supports, eliminating manufacturing waste, and is easy to install by yourself.
